Navarathri festival of dance and music 

Every year during navaratri mother goddess selva nayaki is taken in procession to the hamasa mandapam where she is witness to presentations of classical music and dance. Eminent vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, and katha kalakshepam artists have performed before tayar and many have risen to great heights of success through her grace (P Unnikrishnan). The stage – audience-seating arrangement is broken and artists perform in closeness to the divine. Their art finds inspiration in the splendid silence of Tayar’s presence and they give their best.
